The Danny Bub Combo
The Danny Bub Combo began in 2014 as an instrumental jazz combo—the origin of the name—formed to perform live music in intimate settings where musicianship, groove, and interaction mattered most. That foundation continues to influence how the band performs, adapts, and connects with every room.
As demand grew, so did the sound. What started as a jazz combo evolved organically into a full-scale live entertainment group capable of supporting weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations—without losing the musical chemistry that made those early performances special. One element has remained constant throughout that evolution: a horn-driven sound. Rooted in the band’s jazz origins, a horn section has always been central to the DBC identity and continues to be a defining feature in every configuration of the band.
Rather than becoming a rotating cast of musicians, DBC was intentionally built around a consistent core lineup, allowing the band to develop a shared language on stage and a level of cohesion that can’t be manufactured. Over time, production expanded, repertoire grew, and events became larger—but the approach stayed the same: play everything live, read the room, and let the music drive the moment.
The result is a small package, big sound experience—tight, dynamic, and adaptable—blending real musicianship with professional production and thoughtful flow. Today, The Danny Bub Combo brings that same combo mentality to every event, delivering performances that feel intentional, effortless, and memorable.
Danny Bub
Founder | Bandleader | Music Director
Danny Bub is the founder and bandleader of The Danny Bub Combo, bringing together a background in jazz performance, touring musicianship, and live event direction. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Danny began his musical journey at a young age after picking up the saxophone in fourth grade—a foundation that shaped his approach to groove, phrasing, and live interaction.
As his musicianship developed, Danny expanded beyond saxophone, teaching himself piano and keyboards to broaden his versatility and musical voice. After relocating to Tampa, Florida, he earned a degree in Music Education and Performance from the University of Tampa, where he continued refining his craft while actively performing throughout the region.
In addition to his work as a bandleader, Danny has performed as a touring musician in several original projects, gaining firsthand experience in high-level live performance, consistency on the road, and the demands of professional musicianship. Those experiences—combined with years of performing alongside established artists and bands—shaped his vision for a group built on cohesion, preparation, and musical chemistry rather than rotating lineups.
Danny formed what would become The Danny Bub Combo as an instrumental jazz group, applying the same discipline and listening required in jazz to every performance setting. As demand grew, he guided the band’s evolution into a full-scale live entertainment group capable of supporting weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations—without losing the musical identity that defined its early years.
Off stage, Danny is also a dedicated music educator, currently teaching at a charter school in the Wesley Chapel area of Tampa Bay. His role as an educator informs his leadership style, communication, and attention to detail, reinforcing the importance of preparation, structure, and adaptability—qualities that translate directly into the live event environment.
Today, Danny serves as both a performer and musical director, shaping the energy of each event in real time while working closely with clients, planners, and production teams to ensure every detail is handled smoothly and professionally. His approach is rooted in real musicianship, intentional design, and the belief that the best events feel effortless to the client and unforgettable to the audience.
